Meet Our Founders

Megan has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2006. She earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an Emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida State University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2008.

After graduation, Megan was hired as a Clinical Supervisor at an ABA clinic in Okaloosa County. Her responsibilities included conducting functional behavior assessments, developing individualized behavior intervention plans, conducting language assessments and designing skill acquisition treatment plans based on The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R) Curriculum, and providing training and supervision to behavior therapists. In September 2009, Megan was hired as a BCBA for a local school district.

While working for the school district, Megan worked with students in need of individualized behavior intervention to address behaviors that interfere with successful participation in the educational environment. She has facilitated dozens of professional learning activities, and built close collaborative relationships with district staff, school administrators, teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals. In 2016, Megan Co-Founded Canopy Behavior Solutions, LLC and currently serves as Director of School Consulting.

Misty has over 16 years of experience working with students with special needs in the educational setting. She earned her Master of Science in Emotional Disturbances and Learning Disabilities from Florida State University in 2008, along with the Certificate of Early Childhood Special Education.

While earning her Master’s Degree, she taught pre-kindergarten for students with disabilities and worked with many young students with autism spectrum disorder.  During this time, she learned about the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and the successful impact it had on her students. Misty has ABA experience working both in the clinical and educational setting.  Her clinical experience includes targeting communication and functional skill acquisition through play and natural environment teaching, and knowledge and experience with treating food refusal in young children.

Misty has worked in multiple school districts in Florida and Alabama providing school-based ABA consulting by conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Intervention Plans.  Additionally, she has provided training and professional development to administrators, teachers, and staff on a variety of training topics.  She currently is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Director of Clinical Operations, and Co-Founder of Canopy Behavior Solutions, LLC.
